You will find services and facilities for cyclists on site. After all, don’t forget that the Arcachon basin is an important stage of the Vélodyssée, an XXL cycle track which links the Basque country to Brittany.

Visit the Dune du Pilat from the campsite
The Dune du Pilat is a gigantic dune, almost 3 km long, more than 600 m wide and 110 m high, which stretches from north to south, between the Côte d’Argent and the Landes forest.
Among the campsites located on the Gironde coast, Le Domaine de la Forge is the best place to discover the most beautiful tourist spots. Indeed, you will be only a few kilometres from the Ile aux Oiseaux.
Its formation dates back millions of years. The sand grains, which are the result of the erosion of the mountains, were transported by the rivers to the ocean.
When the accumulated sand reached the entrance to the Arcachon basin, it encountered a large obstacle: a pine forest. The accumulation of sand at the entrance to the Arcachon basin being particularly important, a dune gradually formed between the ocean and the natural barrier responsible for its birth, the forest.
