By boat, it’s much quicker: only 30 minutes. That’s why a boat is the best way to travel to Cap Ferret from Arcachon. Not only is it faster than driving or cycling, but it’s also more enjoyable. During the crossing, you’ll pass by Bird Island and the iconic stilted cabins. Moreover, the maritime route offers stunning views of the bay, the Dune of Pilat, and the Banc d’Arguin. Arcachon - Cap Ferret Maritime Connections
The maritime shuttles between Arcachon and Cap Ferret depart from Thiers Pier. Depending on the season, there are 4 to 12 shuttles per day, with the first departure at 9:00 AM. The crossing takes 30 minutes.

- July 3 to August 30: Hourly between 8:00 AM-4:00 PM; 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the evening.
- August 31 to September 27: Hourly between 9:00 AM-12:00 PM; 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 5:30 PM, and 6:00 PM.
- September 28 to November 1: 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 5:30 PM. Additional departures at 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM on weekends and during school holidays.
Good to Know: Several evening shuttles are available daily from late June to early September and every Friday from early April to late September.
